South Dakota State University students, faculty, staff and visitors will be able to use the PayByPhone mobile app when parking on campus, starting Thursday.
PayByPhone is one of the fastest-growing mobile payment companies in the world, serving contactless parking to over 43 million users, across 1,000+ cities.
Jackrabbits can use the app to pay for one-time parking use in the spaces on Yeager Hall’s south entrance along with a few spaces in lots 140 and 164. The spots will cost 75 cents for each 30-minute block.
After downloading the app and establishing an account, one will register a vehicle and payment method. One then enters the parking spot and length of stay and making a payment in a contact-free environment. When the parking session is about to expire, users will receive a text message prompting them to move.
PayByPhone can be accessed via the company’s website and its smartphone and smartwatch applications.
