Murdo MacKenzie

Murdo is named after the legendary cattleman, Murdo Mackenzie, who ran the Scots-based Matador Land and Cattle Company operation for a total of twenty-five years. When Matador’s Texas land holdings became overgrazed, Mackenzie negotiated leases for a half million acres of land on the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation.
