Laible named interim associate dean

Brad Laible, a professor of pharmacy practice and a member of the South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions since 2004, has been named the college’s interim associate dean for academic programs.
He began his duties Jan. 10, when Teresa Seefeldt transitioned to vice provost for undergraduate education for SDSU.
In the position, Laible will deal with student success strategies, curriculum design and academic program accreditation and assessment. He also will continue to teach classes for second and third-year Pharm.D. students.
Laible has served on the Pharm.D. curriculum committee, eventually serving as chair, a position that he held for seven years. In addition, he has served as a faculty preceptor for hundreds of upper-level pharmacy students doing rotations at Avera over the years and has played a role in the last three Pharm.D. accreditation self-studies.
“That background and understanding of curriculum, accreditation and experiential education makes me confident that he will be successful in this interim position,” Dean Dan Hansen said.
A native of Marion, Laible is a 2001 Pharm.D. graduate from SDSU. He lives in Sioux Falls with his wife Emily and their four children.
