Haleys giving combined vocal recital

A pair of Haleys from South Dakota State University will present their combined vocal recital at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 in Founders Recital Hall in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center on the SDSU campus.
Haley Hobbie and Haley Dahl are both soprano junior music education majors. Hobbie is from Mitchell. Dahl is from Hartford.
Hobbie’s program includes “Once I Was,” “Goodnight Moon” and a couple selections by Carlos Guastavino—“Mi Vina de Chapanay” and “La Rose Y El Sauce.” She will be accompanied by pianist Deb Kalsbeck.
Hobbie’s other musical interests include participating with the Concert Choir, The Pride of the Dakotas Marching Band and Hop-apella. Her primary instructor is Anna DeGraff.
Dahl’s program includes pieces from Schubert—“Gretchen am Spinnrade” and “Fruhlingsglaube,” Mozart—“Un Moto di Gioja,” “Ridente la Calma” and “Giunse alfin il momento…Deh vieni, non tardar” as well as “When Irish Eyes are Smiling” by Ernest Ball. She will be accompanied by pianist Melanie Timmerman.
Dahl’s other musical interests include participating with the Concert Choir, The Pride of the Dakotas Marching Band, Concert Band, Choralia and Hop-apella. Her primary instructor is Emily Toronto.
